The strange and amazing thing about "Greater Phoenix" (Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale, Cave Creek, etc)
is that it is a big built-up area - but right on the edge of some amazing land. Open spaces
with no-one in them except for hikers, bikers and horse riders. It really is an outdoor paradise -
especially given the mild climate... (bitter wind, notwithstanding).
