Once back on the
real trail, we were under the trees and heading back along
the valley floor towards the vet check. It was too dark under the trees, for
the
most part, to take any photos, but it was a fun section of trail, with rocks
and
roots to clamber over, and branches to duck out of the way of. I got a pine
needle in one eye, but otherwise, we got through OK.
There were some really
cool old growth aspen in these woods - all twisted and curly, and some other
gnarled trees that may have been bristlecone, but we weren't sure.
