Looking across to what we came up - more or less straight up the side of the area in the middle-right of the photo.

The rough stuff dumped us out onto a smooth double track (center-middle of the photo) that wound around the mountain and switch-backed a couple of times (see previous two photos) before coming to the water stop at about 6-8 miles from the start.
