Although we all reunited at Last Chance for lunch,
once again we split up into groups:
A faster group (who ended up finishing their ride perhaps 45 minutes ahead of
us),
a middle group who we saw again briefly at Devil's Thumb, and a slowpoke group
practising a "to finish is to win" pace at the back (Nick, Sue, Jim
and I).
This is the trail sign just before you
drop down the canyon towards Swinging Bridge. <gulp>
We particularly liked the adjective
"precipitous".
