And so we got to Devil's Thumb, where there was good hay left over from the WS50
the previous day. For some reason I didn't take photos there, or at Deadwood a 
few miles down the trail where we were able to pump water from the new well into a
thoughtfully provided bucket for the horses to guzzle from. They have moved the 
hand-pump from Devil's Thumb well to the Deadwood one (the vet check [and water well] 
are not at the cemetery as in the past - they are actually maybe half a mile up the road
closer to Devil's Thumb/Foresthill Road

Here we are, starting down the innocent-looking trail out of Deadwood.
