Rides of March, 20 April 2004 / IMG_8009

After our half hour hold at 15
miles, we set out again. We rode with a lady who had
EZ boots on her mare, but about half a mile out the mare managed to flip the
boot
up over her back foot, so that the strap was firmly wrapped around her
fetlock.
The lady had to get off and cut the strap to get it off, so she returned to
the vet check
(thank goodness her horse was fairly calm about it).
We then trolled up a long hill with
a microwave tower on the top. On the other side,
there was a looooongggg downhill, so I practised my "getting off
quickly to walk"
trick and actually did it well for once, thanks to my new carabiner - to
clip my reins
and lead rope on and off of.
In this photo, we are due to
go all the way down to past that dark patch above the
sticky bush you can see in the foreground. You can *just* see the trail
running across
the valley floor. There is a water trough at the bottom.
