A chuckwalla for my birthday.
We stopped off on the geologic
tour in the center of the park to inspect some
indian grinding rocks, as well a man-made "tank" (they made a
concrete
dam between the rocks of a known run-off area, to capture and contain any
rainfall that might occur). Wandering around, this is what we found. The
chuckwalla is a harmless big-bodied lizard similar to the gila-monster,
only not poisonous.
