We came into Michigan Bluff just
before 4 pm, and Peter Rich
and one of the
"faster group" lady's husband's
was there to provide us with people water and hay. Thanks!
(I'd gone through 90 oz of Camelbak water shortly after Deadwood, and Nick
and I polished
off my two 20 oz water bottles at El Dorado Creek).
Gary and Judy Hall
(who live right in MB) provide a horse trough, and a neighbour
across the
road has left out a hose to rinse the horses off with. The trail up from
El Dorado creek
also has a creek nearer the top where you can let the horses drink and sponge
them off.
Here we are starting down our
final canyon of the day - Volcano Canyon - on
the short hop between Michigan Bluff and Foresthill.
Everything's relative. The
first two times I ever rode this trail from Foresthill,
we didn't even make it as far as Michigan Bluff, as it was "too
far".
This day, however, the 6-7 mile section seemed to fly by.
