Riders are shown in the order they came along
the trail.
Please let me know if you can identify any of these anonymous riders (so much for my cunning plan of being able to read the butt numbers off the horses in the photos) |
|
Steve Lenheim on Sa Ibn Saam - 235lbs on an 822 lb
horse!
(Update, to quote Steve: “Finished at 4:15 and had a no-bad event |
|
Horses gathered around two water troughs at Squaw High
Camp. This was just a number check - no trot-through as in the information |
|
Marina Tweed and Ikin. Ikin had slipped on the rocks and
scraped his back leg and was a bit trembly about it. Marina said he had
done brilliantly, though, and she was so pleased with him.
(update - I just checked and sadly they pulled at Robinson Flat.) |
|
Warren Hellman (#126) on Max (chestnut)
(Update: Finished at 3:25) |
|
Lisa Stein and Nevada's Rebel (mustang) all the way from
MO. This was Rebel's second attempt (he tried the WST a couple of year's
ago with a friend of Lisa's), although it was Lisa's first. Sorry I
missed you, Lisa.
(Update: sadly they pulled at Robinson Flat.) |
|
Figety horse wanting to *get on with it*!!! (rider is waiting for space at the water trough)
Kittasha and Linda Riley from AB, Canada
(horse drinks and pees - yay!)
(Update: sadly, pulled (lame) Foresthill Mill Site) |
|
Marina Tweed switches Ikin's tack around. She had brought
green grass along with her in her collapsible bucket, in case he needed a snack where none was
available.
(Marina, despite her horse's problems and the fact that I'm sure she knew that they were likely to be pulled, was both courteous, smiley and greatly concerned about her horse. A true sports-lady - I hope to meet you on the trails one day Marina. Send me email!) |
|
Bruce Anderson (Amori) and Janine Esler (Kholt 45)
Janine Esler | |
Alert horse watching other horses coming along the trail. This rider pulled way off out of the way in order to adjust their tack.
Marina Tweed and Ikin squeezing in to get a drink.
Wendy Swanson in the grass with Shearwater.
Wendy tries to surreptitiously use "the facilities". Sorry, Wendy, I didn't realise when I took this picture <grin>. Is there *no* privacy??
