Riders are shown in the order they came along
the trail.
Please let me know if you can identify any of these anonymous riders (so much for my cunning plan of being able to read the butt numbers off the horses in the photos) |

Denise Thorton riding (#337) KJ Vortex
(Update: Denise put the fear of god into the rest of us when she and her horse fell over the side of the trail a mile or so outside Deadwood. Denise was able to scramble back up the side of the steep bank, but her horse, Willy, just kept going down. Rumours abounded that the horse was more than likely dead because of the remoteness and inaccessibility of the canyon Willy had fallen into. However, the following day, some local people mounted a search party and miraculously found Willy and were able to extract him. Click here to read Steve Elliott’s (one of the rescuers) first hand account of how they found the horse and saved him). |

Christina MacKenzie riding (#292) Ribbons of Steele

|
Holly Foiles and stallion Ibn Collany (Col). This is their
first 100. Holly's husband has them carrying a dog tracking collar in
her pack, in case of mishaps on the trail.
